My high scores aren't being saved

To ensure that everyone is on a level playing field (and in preparation for being able to post your high scores online) only tournament games are eligible for high scores.

To play a tournament game, go to the game's options and check the Tournament Game box. Tournament games always use a 6x6 grid, medium speed, and speed up over time.

I am pressing letters on the game board to spell words, but nothing is being spelled

Please note that the game requires that you press and hold down and trace your finger over the letters you want to spell a word. There is currently no support for individually selecting each letter.

Game Sound Volume Problems

There are two ways to deal with this issue.

The first way is to turn on or turn off the game sounds by going to Options from the splash screen and checking/unchecking the "Game Sounds" option.

The second way to adjust the volume of game sounds is to press the volume up/volume down buttons on your phone while a game sound is played. Since the intro music is the longest game sound that Letter Rip! plays, you will probably want to adjust your volume when the game starts up.

I am experiencing a Force Close dialog box when I go to do something else on my phone and then come back to Letter Rip!

This is a known issue that will be fixed in the next update.

The dictionary doesn't contain a word I know is a word

Please note that proper nouns (words starting with a capital letter), slang words, euphemisms (e.g., "dang") that cannot stand as words on their own, informal words (e.g., "wow") and words with apostrophes are not allowed.

Since this is a family game, certain racial slurs and most offensive words (think George Carlin's list of naughty words) have also been excluded.

If you believe you have a legitimate word that is not recognized by Letter Rip! please send us an email telling us the word(s) you would like to have added. Remember, they've got to be 3 letters or longer in length.

Finally, please note that the dictionary is constantly being expanded and groomed. Each update usually contains thousands of new words.

Will you be adding foreign language dictionaries to your game?

Although this is a great idea, it simply falls too far down on our priority list right now.
